Silver Fir

Since a lecture at forestry school, the fir has been my favorite tree. Through the conscious promotion of this tree species, I have managed to increase the proportion of firs in my forest district by more than 1 percent, reaching a total of 16.1 percent. As a deep-rooted species, the fir is able to supply itself with water from the soil even during drier periods. Increasing the proportion of fir trees is therefore an important step towards creating a climate-resilient forest.
